From 2008 to 2009, he worked as a collaborator in the research group of the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Laboratory at UFAL, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Edson de Souza Bento, from the Institute of Chemistry and Biotechnology (IQB) at UFAL. In 2012, he joined the Medicinal Chemistry group at UFAL, coordinated by Prof. Dr. João Xavier de Araújo Júnior (ESENFAR), where he developed works aimed at discovering new drugs capable of acting by inhibiting the Advanced Advanced Glycation Products - AGE's, as potential antidiabetic drugs. During his Master's (2014-2015) in the Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences (UFAL), with an emphasis on Medicinal Chemistry, he carried out the planning and synthesis of new thiophene compounds with activity against the parasite Trypanosoma cruzi. In 2015, during his PhD held at the Graduate Program in Chemistry and Biotechnology (UFAL), he developed new benzothiazole compounds with dual activity against the Dengue and Zika viruses, in partnership with Johannes Gutenberg Universität Mainz - Germany, where he completed sandwich period (2018-2019) under the supervision of Profª. Drª. Tanja Schirmeister. He is currently Adjunct Professor A1 at the Federal University of Alagoas, where he directs scientific efforts to develop new candidates for antiviral drugs, which can be applied as inhibitors of Zika, Dengue and Chikungunya viral replication. To this end, several modern techniques contained within the scope of molecular modeling are initially applied to the rational planning of these compounds, such as ligand-based drug design (LBDD), structure-based drug design (SBDD), dynamics and molecular dockng, as well as calculations quantum systems using DFT (mainly in the study of catalytic mechanisms of important biological targets). She is currently an adjunct professor IV at the Institute of Chemistry and Biotechnology at the Federal University of Alagoas (IQB / UFAL) and is accredited in the Postgraduate Program in Chemistry and Biotechnology PPGQB / UFAL. Has experience in Chemistry, with emphasis on Organic Synthesis and spectroscopic techniques such as Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, UV-vis and molecular fluorescence applied in the mapping of supramolecular interactions. He is interested in intermolecular protein-ligand, DNA-ligand interactions and encapsulation of biologically active compounds in carrier systems. Post-doctorate at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague, Czech Republic in 2008, with a scholarship from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). He is a Full Professor at the Federal University of Alagoas. Since 1995, he has been conducting research in the area of natural products, with an emphasis on the study of the behavior, extraction and identification of semiochemicals involved in insect-insect (pheromones) and insect-plant / host fruit (Cairomones) interactions; mainly with regard to insects belonging to the following orders: Hymenoptera (ants and parasitoids), Diptera (fruit flies) and Lepidoptera (moths), many of which are pest insects of Brazilian cultures of economic importance. Coordinates research projects aimed at extracting, identifying and formulating attractants for the control of insects of economic importance. He is part of the network of international researchers, sponsored by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), an organization of the United Nations (UN) to study the Anastrepha fraterculus complex.
